About Lukas Stone

Lukas is a Sydney-based author, business owner, and content creator living with his husband Greg and his son Grayson, born via surrogacy in 2021 after a five-year journey that tested every limit of resilience, hope, and determination.

Lukas’ professional background is in corporate communications, marketing, and public relations, where he has spent more than two decades crafting compelling narratives for clients. But it was his surrogacy journey, navigating Australia's altruistic system through multiple failed embryo transfers, two devastating miscarriages with his sister-in-law as surrogate, and ultimately finding success with an extraordinary woman named Sarah—that transformed his writing from a skillset to identity.

Baby Bake Off documents this journey with unflinching honesty and dark humour, exploring themes of mortality (triggered by Lukas’ father's death), LGBTQIA+ family creation, medical system navigation, and what it costs financially, physically, and emotionally to build a family when biology refuses to cooperate.

Beyond his debut memoir, Lukas has several children's books in development, and another memoir planned. Lukas lives openly with depression, anxiety, and ADHD, and is a survivor of childhood sexual abuse—experiences that inform his writing's emotional authenticity and dark humour.

Originally drawn to forensic psychology through Thomas Harris’ novels and a love of The X Files, Lukas pivoted at twenty to pursue writing-focused studies at university. With a passion for examining the intersection between human psychology, communication and behaviour, Lukas loves nothing more than bringing a compelling narrative to life through his writing.
